 UPSC GS MAINS GENERAL KNOWLEDGE Happy 75th Republic day ! ! ! On watching the republic day special parade this morning, one question banged me .  Why different salutes for Army,  Navy and Airforce? And here is the solution!!!  A salute is a gesture of respect and trust among soldiers which encourages a pride in their ever-shining uniforms while at the same time elevates them in their own eyes by reminding them all of that is implied by the profession and its traditions of chivalry and courtesy.  Our tri - services have their own type of salute. 1.  UPSC GS MAINS IMPORTANT QUESTIONS What is amendment and what are its types? An  amendment  is a change made to an original, usually a document or statement. Types of Amendments: Article 368 provides for two types of amendments, that is, by a special majority of Parliament and also through the ratification of half of the states by a simple majority. But, some other articles provide for the amendment of certain provisions of the constitution by simple majority of the parliament, that is, a majority of members of each house present and voting (similar to the ordinary legislative process). Notably these amendments are not deemed to be amendments of the Constitution of the Constitution for the purposes of Article 368.  Therefore, the Constitution can be amended in three ways:  Amedment by simple majority of the parliament. Amedment by a special majority of the parliament Amendment by special majority of the parliament and the ratification of half of the state legislatures. Hello  guys  !!

The park will be created at Rs 62.77 crores, out of which, 50% of the fund is to be borne by the Central Government and the rest by KIADB. It is to be built by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) land. About the park: Generates hundreds of employment for the local youths. A poly propylene unit is to be set up in the park which will provide raw materials to the polymer and plastic units inside the park. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer. It is mainly used in plastic packaging. Also, the park will help reduce transport costs. This is because, 32 companies are to be established within the park. Fixed Dose Combination(FDC) drugs are drugs having two or more active ingredients in a single dosage . They are widely used  to improve patience compliance as it is easier for them to take one drug than several. They are acceptable only if the drugs so combined have therapeutic advantage. Eg:  Ibuprofen. India is one of the world's largest markets for FDC drug that make up almost half of the market share.   Central drug regulator of India(CDSCO)came out with the policy guideline for the approval of FDC's in 2013.
